LED face masks between $200 and $300 sit above the cheap no name masks and below the premium brands. In this band, most listings say the same few things: an LED count, some colors, and very often the words FDA cleared. What they rarely give is the number that would let you check that claim.

This roundup scores six masks sold on Amazon on what each listing states. We do not judge skin results. Listings were collected 3 October 2026.

More to compare

What each mask states

Mask LEDs Wavelengths in nm Power figure FDA claim Warranty
LuminX Pro 280 Not stated Not stated Yes, names uses, no number 2 years
MEGELIN 7 Colors 288 Not stated 35 mW/cm² No 365 days
AWA LX300 432 + 456 neck Not stated Not stated Yes, no number 1 year
Shark CryoGlow Not stated Not stated Not stated Yes, no number Not stated
Nanoleaf 432 Not stated Not stated Yes, no number Not stated
CurrentBody Series 1 Not stated 633, 830 Not stated No Not stated

All figures are manufacturer stated. A power figure without a measuring distance is hard to compare, because output falls quickly as you move away from the LEDs. See irradiance explained and wavelengths explained.

What 20 listings state

Listing states Count of 20
An FDA clearance claim 11
A 510(k) number for that claim 0
Wavelengths in nanometers 11
An irradiance figure 4
A warranty term 8
An electrical safety listing 0

More than half of the masks in this price band claim FDA clearance, and none gives a 510(k) number on the listing. A real clearance has one, and it names the specific uses that were cleared. We did not give any mask credit for an FDA claim we could not trace. See how FDA clearance works for red light devices for how to look one up.

Score notes

The Chill Score weighs performance 35, build 25, value 25, safety certifications 10 where it applies and warranty 5. Here, performance covers what each listing states about LEDs, wavelengths, power, coverage and its cleared uses. No mask states an electrical safety listing, so all score zero on safety.

Product Chill Score Perf. /35 Build /25 Value /25 Safety /10 Warranty /5
LuminX Pro 9.5 28 20 21 0 3
MEGELIN 7 Colors 9.5 27 20 21 0 2
AWA LX300 Face and Neck 9.5 28 20 20 0 2
Shark CryoGlow 9.4 27 22 19 0 0
Nanoleaf LED Mask 9.4 27 20 20 0 0
CurrentBody Series 1 9.4 27 20 18 0 0

Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score.

LuminX Pro scores highest because it is the most specific about its claims and states the longest warranty. Shark has a cooling feature nobody else offers, but its listing states less.

Who should not buy one

If you want a mask to treat a skin condition, see a dermatologist first. None of these listings lets you confirm a clearance from the page.

If you are unsure LED masks suit you, try a cheaper one first. See our red light therapy masks roundup and red light therapy under $100.

Common questions

How do I check an FDA clearance claim?

Ask the seller for the 510(k) number, then search it in the FDA’s 510(k) database. The record shows the device name, the company and the cleared uses.

Does more LEDs mean a better mask?

Not on its own. LED count says nothing about the output of each LED or the distance to your skin.

Do I need eye protection with a mask?

Keep your eyes closed during a session, use any eye shields supplied, and follow the manual for session length.
