Cold Plunge Tubs: a quick buyer's checklist
- Rated minimum temperature. This is the maker's figure for the coldest water the chiller reaches, under conditions it sets.
- Insulation. Wall construction and the cover affect how hard the chiller works. The listing often names the material.
- Filtration. Check which filter or sanitizing system comes with the tub and what replacement parts cost.
- Footprint and weight. Compare interior depth and width with the tub's outside size, and plan for filled weight.
- First-year cost. Include power use, filters and water treatment, not just the purchase.
- Warranty on the chiller. The chiller is the costly part, so note its stated term separately from the tub shell.
We estimate running cost from rated wattage and show our basis. Use a GFCI-protected outlet, and read our cold plunge safety guide before your first session. A tub that looks the same as another can differ sharply in the parts it ships with. We list what the maker says is included, such as the chiller, lid and filter, so you can compare complete setups instead of bare shells. Where the listing lacks a figure, we write that it is not stated, and you should ask the seller before ordering a tub that large.
