Between $1,000 and $2,000 you get either a better one person cabin or a basic one for two or three. The heaters get bigger, from about 1,200 to 2,000 watts, and with them the question most listings skip: what circuit does it need?
This roundup covers six indoor infrared cabins in that band, with running costs and wiring needs for each. Under $1,000, see our one person cabin roundup. For two person cabins specifically, see our 2 person sauna roundup.
This article is informational and is not medical advice. Do not use a sauna after alcohol, when pregnant, or with a heart condition or low blood pressure without asking a clinician first. See our Medical Disclaimer.
One more thing before the picks. Our How We Review policy prefers mains powered products that state a UL, ETL or CSA listing, and leaves out unlisted ones when listed alternatives exist. In this category there are none: not one of the indoor cabins in our sample states a listing. So, as the policy sets out and as in our 2 person sauna roundup, we include them, score safety at zero, and say so on every product. Before you buy, ask the seller for the certification of the heater and control unit, and have a licensed electrician check the circuit.

What each one costs to run
Calculated from rated wattage, a one hour session including warm up, and 18.34 cents per kWh, the US residential average for June 2026 from the Energy Information Administration. See our running cost guide to use your own rate.
| Product | Rated power | Per one hour session | Per month, 4 sessions a week |
|---|---|---|---|
| KUNSANA 1 person ceramic | 1,810 W | 33 cents | $5.75 |
| SALUSHEAT corner | 1,800 W | 33 cents | $5.72 |
| KUNSANA 3 person | 2,000 W | 37 cents | $6.36 |
| Homsido 1 person | 1,200 W | 22 cents | $3.81 |
| LifePro Rejuvacure | 1,500 W | 28 cents | $4.77 |
The Dynamic Saunas Elite does not state its wattage, so we cannot include it. Real costs will be somewhat lower than these figures, because heaters cycle once the cabin is at temperature.
What each one needs from your wiring
This is where cabins in this band differ most, and where listings say least.
- The KUNSANA 3 person states it needs 20 amps at 110 to 120V. Most household circuits are 15 amps.
- The KUNSANA 1 person states a 120V 15A plug in supply.
- The LifePro and Homsido state 110V but not the amperage.
- The SALUSHEAT and Dynamic Saunas state neither.
At 120V, a 1,800 watt heater draws about 15 amps, which is the full rating of a standard circuit. Plan on a dedicated circuit for anything in this band, and read our sauna electrical guide before you order.
Score notes
The Chill Score weighs performance 35, build 25, value 25, safety certifications 10 where it applies and warranty 5.
| Product | Chill Score | Perf. | Build | Value | Safety | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| KUNSANA 1 person ceramic | 57 | 20 | 13 | 13 | 0 | 11 |
| SALUSHEAT corner | 55 | 19 | 14 | 13 | 0 | 9 |
| Dynamic Saunas Elite | 50 | 12 | 14 | 13 | 0 | 11 |
| KUNSANA 3 person | 48 | 21 | 14 | 13 | 0 | 0 |
| Homsido 1 person | 41 | 15 | 12 | 14 | 0 | 0 |
| LifePro Rejuvacure | 39 | 17 | 12 | 10 | 0 | 0 |
Warranty separates the top of this table. The KUNSANA one person states 2 years with its scope and exclusions, the Dynamic Saunas 5 years limited, and the SALUSHEAT 2 years. The other three state no term. The KUNSANA three person has the strongest heating spec, and loses five points for stating no warranty.
Who should not buy one
Speak to a clinician first if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, low blood pressure, or take medication that affects heat tolerance. Never use a sauna after alcohol, keep sessions moderate, drink water, and get out if you feel dizzy.
If you cannot add a dedicated circuit, stay with a cabin that states a 15 amp plug in supply, or look at our smaller one person cabins.
Common questions
Do I need an electrician?
For anything drawing 1,500 watts or more, have one check the circuit. For the 20 amp KUNSANA, plan on a new circuit.
Is ceramic better than carbon?
They are different heater types. Ceramic rods run hotter at the surface, carbon panels spread lower heat over a wider area. We compare them on rated power and layout, not on claims about either type.
What about red light panels in a sauna?
Several of these include one. A red light feature inside a cabin is specified even more loosely than a standalone panel. Treat it as an extra, not a reason to buy.
