A massage gun head wears out, splits or gets lost, and a different shape can make a gun more useful. Third party sets are cheap, but they only work if the base matches the port on your gun, and that is the part most buyers get wrong.
This roundup scores six replacement head sets sold on Amazon on what each listing states. Listings were collected 5 October 2026.

Measure the port before you buy
Third party heads are sold by base diameter, not by gun model. Pull an original head out and measure the base with a ruler or caliper. Most full size guns take an 18 to 19 mm base, mini guns usually take 12 to 13 mm, and some brands, including Theragun, use their own fitting. A head that is loose can fly off at speed, and one that is tight can damage the port.
What each set says about fit
| Set | Heads | Fit stated | Mini guns |
|---|---|---|---|
| Existkey 6 Heads | 6 | 18.5 mm base | No |
| Falafale Double Heads | 4 | 0.71 to 0.75 in port | No |
| Falafale 4 Ball Head | 1 | 12 to 13, 16 to 17, 18 to 19 mm | Yes, with adapter |
| ABSOK 9 Heads | 9 | 18 to 19 mm port | No |
| Cosmos 6 Heads | 6 | 18.6 to 18.8 mm base | No |
| UNSVM 10 Heads | 10 | 19 mm port | No |
We read 20 listings. Every one we kept gives a size, but only one includes adapters for mini guns. Several titles name a big brand gun such as the Hypervolt Go, which tells you about size, not about an official part.
Which shape for what
- Ball: the general head for large muscles such as thighs and glutes.
- Flat: spreads force for broad areas.
- Air cushion: softer, for people who find foam too firm.
- Bullet or cone: concentrated, for small spots in thick muscle. Keep it moving and away from bone.
- Fork or U: often sold for the neck or spine. We suggest using it on the calves or forearms instead, never on the spine itself.
Score notes
The Chill Score weighs performance 35, build 25, value 25, safety certifications 10 where it applies and warranty 5. Here, performance covers how clearly fit is stated and the range of shapes. Electrical safety listings do not apply to a passive head, so safety scores zero for all.
| Product | Chill Score | Perf. /35 | Build /25 | Value /25 | Safety /10 | Warranty /5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Existkey 6 Heads | 9.6 | 29 | 20 | 20 | n/a | 0 |
| Falafale Double Heads | 9.5 | 28 | 20 | 19 | n/a | 0 |
| Falafale 4 Ball Head | 9.5 | 28 | 20 | 19 | n/a | 0 |
| ABSOK 9 Heads | 9.5 | 27 | 19 | 20 | n/a | 0 |
| Cosmos 6 Heads | 9.5 | 27 | 19 | 20 | n/a | 0 |
| UNSVM 10 Heads | 9.5 | 27 | 20 | 19 | n/a | 2 |
Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score. Safety counts only for powered gear or where the listing states safety features; where it does not apply, the score is taken over the remaining 90 points.
Existkey states a clear base size. The Falafale four ball head is the one to look at if you own a mini gun.
Who should not buy these
If your gun is still under warranty, check whether third party heads void it, and buy the maker’s own heads if so. If your gun uses a proprietary fitting, generic heads will not fit. And if the heads you have are whole, a new shape rarely changes much.
For a new gun, see massage guns, mini massage guns and massage gun safety.
Common questions
Are massage gun heads universal?
No. Most full size guns share an 18 to 19 mm base and many minis share 12 to 13 mm, but some brands use their own. Measure first.
How do I clean them?
Most foam and silicone heads can be wiped or rinsed and dried. Keep water away from the gun itself.
