Between $2,000 and $3,000 most indoor infrared cabins seat two, and a few seat three. Heaters run from about 1,750 to 2,130 watts. At that power the most important question is not on the front of most listings: can your house supply it?
This roundup covers six cabins in that band, with running costs and the circuit each one needs. For cheaper options see our under $1,000 and under $2,000 roundups, and for two person cabins at every price, our 2 person sauna roundup.
This article is informational and is not medical advice. Do not use a sauna after alcohol, when pregnant, or with a heart condition or low blood pressure without asking a clinician first. See our Medical Disclaimer.
One more thing before the picks. Our How We Review policy prefers mains powered products that state a UL, ETL or CSA listing, and leaves out unlisted ones when listed alternatives exist. In this category there are none: not one of the indoor cabins in our sample states a listing. So, as the policy sets out and as in our 2 person sauna roundup, we include them, score safety at zero, and say so on every product. Before you buy, ask the seller for the certification of the heater and control unit, and have a licensed electrician check the circuit.

The wiring question
A standard household circuit in the US is 15 amps at 120V. Electrical code limits a continuous load, which a sauna is, to 80 percent of the circuit rating: 12 amps, or about 1,440 watts. Every cabin here that states its wattage is above that.
| Cabin | Rated power | Draw at 120V | What the listing says |
|---|---|---|---|
| SALUSHEAT 3 person | 2,130 W | About 17.8 A | 20 amp plug |
| OUTEXER 2 person | 2,100 W | About 17.5 A | 120V |
| DAIMOT 2 person | 2,030 W | About 16.9 A | Any standard 120V outlet |
| springspa 2 person | 1,890 W | About 15.8 A | Dedicated 20 amp, 120V outlet |
| Dynamic Saunas Toulouse | 1,750 W | About 14.6 A | No special wiring needed |
| Dynamic Saunas Barcelona | Not stated | Not known | Standard 15 amp, 120V plug |
The springspa states what it needs most clearly. The DAIMOT’s claim that any standard outlet will do does not fit its own wattage. For any of these, plan on a dedicated 20 amp circuit unless the seller confirms otherwise in writing. Our sauna electrical guide covers the details.
What each one costs to run
Calculated from rated wattage, a one hour session including warm up, and 18.34 cents per kWh, the US residential average for June 2026 from the Energy Information Administration. See our running cost guide to use your own rate.
| Product | Rated power | Per one hour session | Per month, 4 sessions a week |
|---|---|---|---|
| SALUSHEAT 3 person | 2,130 W | 39 cents | $6.77 |
| OUTEXER 2 person | 2,100 W | 39 cents | $6.68 |
| DAIMOT 2 person | 2,030 W | 37 cents | $6.45 |
| springspa 2 person | 1,890 W | 35 cents | $6.01 |
| Dynamic Saunas Toulouse | 1,750 W | 32 cents | $5.56 |
The Barcelona does not state its wattage. Real costs will be somewhat lower than these figures, because heaters cycle once the cabin is at temperature.
Score notes
The Chill Score weighs performance 35, build 25, value 25, safety certifications 10 where it applies and warranty 5.
| Product | Chill Score | Perf. | Build | Value | Safety | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SALUSHEAT 3 person | 56 | 20 | 14 | 13 | 0 | 9 |
| Dynamic Saunas Toulouse | 53 | 17 | 14 | 11 | 0 | 11 |
| Dynamic Saunas Barcelona | 52 | 13 | 15 | 13 | 0 | 11 |
| OUTEXER 2 person | 41 | 17 | 13 | 11 | 0 | 0 |
| DAIMOT 2 person | 40 | 15 | 11 | 14 | 0 | 0 |
| springspa 2 person | 39 | 19 | 9 | 11 | 0 | 0 |
Warranty separates these more than heating does. The two Dynamic Saunas cabins state 5 years limited and the SALUSHEAT 2 years. The OUTEXER, DAIMOT and springspa state nothing. The springspa has the best electrical disclosure.
Who should not buy one
Speak to a clinician first if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, low blood pressure, or take medication that affects heat tolerance. Never use a sauna after alcohol, keep sessions moderate, drink water, and get out if you feel dizzy.
If you cannot add a dedicated 20 amp circuit, a cabin in this band is the wrong purchase. Look at the plug in one person cabins in our under $1,000 roundup instead.
Common questions
Why do so many listings say no special wiring is needed?
Some cabins do plug into a household outlet. But at these wattages the outlet’s circuit needs to carry little else, and in most homes that means a new dedicated circuit. Ask before you buy.
Is a three person cabin worth it for two?
Only if you have the space and the circuit. Bigger cabins take longer to heat and draw more power.
Wattage, voltage, temperature and EMF figures are manufacturer rated. Current draw is wattage divided by 120V. Electricity rate: US Energy Information Administration, average residential price, June 2026, 18.34 cents per kWh.
